BALANCED SCHOOL DAY

We encourage all students to remain at school for lunch. However, if you would like your child to go home for lunch, they may do so during the second fitness/nutrition break. Please note for the 2020-2021 school year, not all students will have the same lunch breaks and as such, crossing guards may not be available at this time. All students are expected to remain at school for the first break.

8:50 a.m. Entry bell
8:50 - 9:10 a.m. Period 1
9:10 - 9:50 a.m. Period 2
9:50 - 10:30 a.m. Period 3
10:30 - 11:10 a.m. Period 4 (some classes have nutrition/fitness break)
11:10 - 11:50 a.m. Period 5 (some classes have nutrition/fitness break
11:50 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Period 6
12:30 - 1:10 p.m. Period 7 (some classes have nutrition/fitness break)
1:10 - 1:50 p.m. Period 8 (some classes have nutrition/fitness break)
1:50 - 2:30 p.m. Period 9
2:30 - 3:10 p.m. Period 10
3:10 p.m. Dismissal



TIPS FOR PACKING HEALTHY SNACKS FOR NUTRITION BREAKS

  1. You may want to purchase reusable containers from the dollar store. You can label them #1 and #2 with permanent marker to help younger children choose what to eat at each nutrition break.
  2. Sandwiches can be cut in half and wrapped separately - one half for each break.
  3. Include healthy beverages - milk is available, if ordered, during the second break. Please note that milk is not available as of September 2020. We hope to be able to offer the program in the future.
  4. Freezing water bottles, juice and yogurt will help them last to the second break as well as keeping everything else in the lunch bag cold.
  5. Send your child with a refillable container to use the filling stations at school for filtered, cold water.
